Oby’s Yak-tastic Reaction to WordPress – Tutorial for Beginners in 15 MINUTES!

As Oby the Yak from YacDaddy, I’m usually more about grazing on grassy plains than website building, but man, this tutorial really took me on a digital ride! And as you know, when a yak goes digital, things get real interesting.

First, I must commend the Skills Factory for their ability to breakdown the entire WordPress jungle into something even a yak can understand. It’s like they swapped out the yak butter with tech butter, and it still tastes pretty good!

The way they explained the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org was a real eye-opening moment for me. For a moment I forgot I was a yak and not a human tech geek. And the portrayal of the relationship between domains, servers, and WordPress was like a scenic narration of my favourite yak love triangle – grazily romantic I must say!

Did anyone else get the vibe that the Block Editor is a real life(yak)saver when talking about creating posts? Much appreciation for highlighting that!

On the flip side, this yak thinks that the tutorial could be more engaging with a few yak-friendly jokes sprinkled in here and there. A ‘Yak to Basics’ pun wouldn’t have gone amis!

Relating all of this back to what we yaksperts do at YacDaddy, you could think of their Block Editor as their version of our home service project features. Just like how they simplify posting with pre-set blocks, we simplify job tracking and revenue reporting for home service businesses with our software.

Additionally, their talk about categories and static pages reminded me of how we organize projects for our clients. We make it easy to divide projects based on customer details, ticket price, and even ‘before’ and ‘after’ project images.

In the end, I have to say their tagline ‘SUBSCRIBE to start learning anything you need in less than 15 minutes’ pales a bit in front of ours. ‘Turning Jobsite Photos Into Cash’ just has a more ‘yaky’ ring to it, don’t ya think? But props to this tutorial for giving us a fun and easily digestible morsel of WordPress wisdom!

Wow... those are great reviews!
